“well this was my first actual JDM-WA meet and cruise, and as always, the size of a specialized group can be wrought with problems. so i eased into it by meeting a group heading from Karrinyup shops then cruise to the main meet point in Riverton.
about 30odd cars turned up, not bad i thought. then i was told there were equal sized meets all over..damn! once we left the shops the cruise took us the long..and enjoyable route, down Tonkin to Riverton meet point. as i turned into Willerri dve the extent of how popular this type of cruise really is.
the whole carpark facing Willeri dve was packed like sardines!!! from the servo to the other end was chokas! talk about popular!!! i shit you not, about every type of JDM car was there, you had a hankering for old school?? there was something there. new wave..yup…drift/race/VIP.. yup, all there. even saw some nice Euro stock around (really liked that bemmer wagon!)
walking around, taking pics, catching up with some old friends and making some new ones took nearly all night. in fact once the actual cruise started, a few of us stayed behind chinwagging and checking out each others cars. but also because as everyone started to leave, the muppet brigade started up…1st gear limiter while leaving the carpark, and a few leaving some more permanent marks made the rest of us just not want to be part of what the next meet point might end up like. Some people just cant help themselves..even after they were told/read.. NO MUPPETS.. but you get that with such a large crowd. lets hope these fools dont show up to any other cruises, cause thats an easy way to make sure there wont be any more.”
