After a drink and some food which were available all night from the clubhouse and a quick listen to the band that was playing on the stage that was set up on the truck as usual, i kept meeting and talking while i took photos and with the variety of cars from a honda S600 and a Prefect to hemi powered rods and smooth as caddies, you really had the pick of the US and Oz muscle scene right there. Noticable was the few VW that braved the bigger cars and the couple of Mercedes that were a lot lower than when they left the factory, but i’ve still to see some fat vans of either the VW or UK based contingent to show up, even the smaller US based dodge A100 or the ford Econoline vans are nowhere around. i’m hanging to see a dumped old bread van cruise these shows!!
So i’d say this year was better temp wise than last year, But i did notice that there were less people dressed in period clothing..and seeing this is a rockabilly based show you’d think more people would dress up in that style, especially with the warmer evening air to swing to. but i spose i cant complain as i didn’t have my normal ride here either. maybe next year will be a bonanza of sight and sound!..
..till then oo-roo DB
