DOUBLE DEMERITS REMINDER – EASTER LONG WEEKEND
Note: Double demerit penalties for the Easter long weekend apply from Thursday 2 to Monday 6 April (inclusive).
Motorists should be aware that as of midnight tonight, double demerits apply across the State for the following offences:
- Speeding;
- Drink or drug driving;
- Failing to wear a seat belt and/or child restraint;
- Running a red light; and
- Illegal use of a mobile phone while driving.
WA Police will be out enforcing double demerits across the Easter long weekend to help stop risk taking behaviour on Western Australian roads and to protect the majority of the community who do the right thing.
