So my Sunday started rather slow before I finally found the time to head out to Collie to have a bit of a look at the Collie Motorsports Group Club Day, which was an open event for non-member’s also. Being my first time ever out to the Collie Speedway, I was having a think about what to expect, all I could imagine was a bunch of Falcon and Commodore bush spec paddock pigs with mismatching panels, covered in spider webs and dust…. Well I was so very wrong! The quality of cars completely wowed me! I only made it for a short hour, but in that time I was totally confused as to where to look! The track, the pad, the pits, it was all a little much for one person and a camera! For anyone who hasn’t headed out there for one of their open events, you’re missing out and should keep an eye out for future events.
Today, to watch a number of “newbies” out on the pad with no pressure to perform perfectly, then to have another come onto the pad and go nuts like a real pro was just great to see but most of all the quality of old school cars out on the track blew me away.
Thanks for the top hour today CMG, see you all for Gazzanats!
