Project One-80 Fundraiser
In loving memory of James Tan
Ideas popped up on how best to run a fundraiser for the soon-to-be RPS13 Monster, but other options aside, the bikini carwash was the popular choice. Honestly, why not host a barbeque and carwash featuring scantily-clad hotties washing cars to raise funds? Today featured a large turnout of import, muscle and euro cars, with a few motorcycles in the mix too. DJ’s Boston Switch and Melotyx were there cranking tunes as sausages sizzled, cars were cleaned and girls got wet. And in the middle of it all, standing majestically and in memory of its owner was the famous “Tan R” Honda Integra Type R – James’ pride and joy.
It was heart-warming to see such great support for the tribute project from clubs such as VALOR, JDMWA, Perth Imports and many more. It turned out to be a sunny and enjoyable Sunday considering that we were presented with fairly uncertain weather forecasts predicting rain and strong winds.
The event was lined with many Perth photographers who were more than happy to devote their time and effort to the cause. Additionally Perth Underground Magazine will be featuring the tribute carwash in their next issue. All donations made toward the carwash and sausage sizzle contribute towards finishing Project One-80 by James’ birthday on the 28th of July 2012.
